We are now done with 2 hours of the read-a-thon, and those first two hours went by really quickly! Before I give my first stats, here is the introduction meme:

How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours? I have 9 books in my pile, but I know I won't get to all of them. I just wanted to have some options!
Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)? My goal is to read 1000 pages, so I'm going to need to step it up a bit!
If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, Any advice for people doing this for the first time? Take little walks outside, if possible. It's a good break for your eyes, and it feels good to move around a bit after sitting for long periods of time.

I have spent most of the first two hours reading outside on my back porch. We are supposed to get lots of rain today, so it is very cloudy. It' so quiet though, this early in the morning, and I want to be outside as much as possible before the rain! My first two hour stats are:
Number of pages read: 67
Time spent reading: 80 minutes
Time spent blogging: 35 minutes
Blogs visited: 9
Mini challenges entered: 1 (intro meme)

O.k. so as your Dear Old Mom and No. 1 cheerleader, I say "Hip,hip==cheerio, and all such things" You look way comfortable, and I think it's a wonderful idea to have a furry, purry reading companion! "Running and running, running around the room"---such musical lyrics from your childhood would play nicely into your current situation, eh?
Hi! Good luck today. Looks like you've picked some other places to go read, which is cool. Have you ever noticed though that when you read at a restaurant, that the servers and patrons get nervous a little? I've always wondered why people look at you as if you're an alien when you read there? Maybe that's just my own experience! :) Well, good luck!!!
I spent time reading outside as well. I think it's one of the most perfect places to read. Well, that and curled up next to a fire.
Reading outside at dawn sounds so serene. I bet it is just lovely. Good luck today. BTW, I am left handed too! YAY! for the south paws!
